OFFICIAL 1.1.3 Jailbreak by the Dev Team RELEASED!

It turns out that the jailbreak that Nate True released was not the completed one. Well the Dev Team have released the Official Jailbreak
The simplest method for Windows is from jfb392 of iPodTouchFans

QUOTE from jfb392 from iPodTouchFans:

Download and extract this to any folder on your computer.
Run jailbreak.bat and everything should work on it’s own.
When the download of the firmware stops at 100%, don’t worry and don’t close the window, just be patient.
This requires you to be on Wi-Fi on jailbroken 1.1.2 with BSD Subsystem 1.5 or greater, and OpenSSH.
Also, be plugged into some kind of power source, like the Dev Team recommends in the README.
Make sure you have lots of free space on your iPod too, you’ll need it.
Thanks to the Dev Team for this method, plus everyone who tested this when it still had problems.
And my girlfriend, she’s the reason why I even bother with this, even though she won’t hack hers.
To get the January update for free, add to your sources in Installer, then navigate to The iPhone 1.1.3 Apps. in categories and install “The iPhone 1.1.3 Apps”.
Don’t worry about patching Springboard or activation pop-ups, etc, it’s all fixed since this is the real iPod firmware.
Be aware, your applications may not show up, you’ll have to uninstall and resinstall them.
Some may not work at all on 1.1.3, but it’s the risk you take.
Enjoy. Please report any problems in this thread.
Don’t bother reading the whole thread, everything should work fine.

Users who have problems, see this.

1.1.3 Jailbreak , no computer RELEASED!

Yep H3X has released his automatic jailbreak method.

Quote from H3X on iPod Touch Fans:

All that is required is a jailbroken iPod on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 with installer.

EDIT: It’s up:
This is so far unconfirmed working, therefore, we are not responsible if you mess up your iPod. However, it should work.

Here is the link to the instructions, which can also be accessed from “More Info”.

1.1.3 Jailbreak , no computer required. To be released!

H3x over at is currently working on a complete 1.1.3 jailbreak that doesn’t require the use of a computer. The hack will work by automatically doing what iBrickr is supposed to do. The auto jailbreak will be online pretty soon

All that will be required is a jailbroken ipod on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 with installer.

I’m making this by myself. Should be up tonight.

It will take about 20-30 minutes to download the image, though.

Discuss. Should work on iPod Touches and iPhones.

Want iPhone apps on your 1.1.3 iPod Touch?

Justin Nolan over at has released a workaround to enable most of the 1.1.3 $20 / £12.99 uprade apps on your iPod Touch. This is, in effect the file that you will have bought for $20/£12.99.

Have a jailbroken 1.1.3? The iPhone apps are locked away in the firmware. Install the App Enabler to unlock them:1. Add to your sources list. Refresh sources.
2. Install 1.1.3 Touch Apps under Modiphone.netPlease note that there is ZERO copyrighted code in this package. All we are doing is replacing the app’s Info.plist files with our own. Uninstalling will revert back to the default plists.

Note: MobileMail may or may not show up on your SpringBoard with this version. Please report back in the comments.

1.1.3 Jailbreak Released!

That’s right ! The jailbreak for 1.1.3 has been released! Thanks to all the continually hard working hackers and developers. We have once again a hacked Firmware not long after release!

On further research it seems that this will work on the iPod Touch but will be severely somewhat unstable. So I recommend to try this ONLY on an iPhone it will work for the time being until a specialist iPod Touch Jailbreak is released.

On More Research it seems it is safe to carry out this JailBreak on a iPod Touch. But I , anybody else cannot be held be responsible for anything that may cause any damage to your iPod / iPhone. This here is what is on Nate True’s Site. (in case it’s laggy)

“Well, the iPhone Dev Team has done it again. A working jailbreak for 1.1.3 is finally here.

As all upgrades are risky, this one is doubly so. You may have to restore your phone using iTunes and start again if it fails. Make sure to back up first!

Let’s continue

This jailbreak, like the 1.1.2 jailbreak, comes as an upgrade. This means you need to have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone already, before you can begin.

Update – unlocked phones appear to remain unlocked and work properly after the update, according to scattered reports.

MAC VERSION – Download the 1.1.3 package maker and open it, then run Run_This. Read carefully, press Enter when necessary, and the image will be uploaded to your phone.

Here’s how you do it:
– Start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone with installed.
– Plug in your phone via USB to your computer.
– Download, extract, and run iBrickr Special 1.1.3 jailbreak edition (ibrickr.exe in the archive).
– iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.
– iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly).
– iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.
– When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the “1.1.3 soft upgrade” package. Do that.
– When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware.

I’ll be posting a video tutorial on Gear Live’s Bleeding Edge real soon, so watch for that!

If you feel like giving, please donate to a worthy charity. Donations directly to the Dev Team are not possible. If you wish to donate to me directly, there is a donation link on the official iBrickr page.

Props to everyone on the Dev Team, including (in no particular order): netkas, NerveGas, asap18, bgm, Bugout, bushing, chris_, dinopio, drudge, Fred_, gray, MuscleNerd, natetrue, pr3d4t0r, roxfan, Turbo, Zf[strike], np101137, pumpkin, and kroo, along with many contributors who wish to remain anonymous.

And props to Fred_ and planetbeing, who were among the first with a 1.1.3 jailbroken iphone, and Zibri, by whom this method was largely developed. Additionally to Shaun Erickson, who packaged the Installer half of the upgrade, and runs most of the application packaging for the iPhone. He’s looking for a job too – hire him!

Additionally, members of the iPhone Elite team also played a part.”

1.1.3 Jailbreak Soon , Multiple Exploits Found Confirmed

Unconfirmed but hopefully true. Courtesy of Justin Nolan of;

EDIT: This has been confirmed as the Dev Team and Nate True have released a jailbreak.

“Multiple exploits have been found! That means the dev teams can keep one hidden away in their arsenal, and release a 1.1.3 jailbreak sooner rather than later. Information is scarce, but the best I can provide is that the iPhone/Touch Dev teams are working on software/scripts to make the process beginner friendly. The only ETA is “soon.” I will, of course, keep you posted. “

This hasn’t been confirmed yet but does mean,if true then we can expect a jailbreak method quite soon while the other remains hidden so when Apple releases 1.1.4/the SDK we could use the other method that Apple couldn’t patch (because they wouldn’t have known what the exploit is)
